Dear Students,
I am very excited about teaching your German class this year. German is an important and useful language to learn. I will do my best to facilitate your learning, but it is up to you to do what it takes to speak German: read, write, listen to, and practice German as much as possible. Flash cards for vocabulary are very helpful. If you miss a class, get notes from a friend. I will put hand outs on the class Web site at http://www.hodgemony.com/german. Late assignments will be accepted the following class period, but will receive no higher than a 70.
Missed tests due to an excused absence may be made up by appointment without penalty. Students receiving less than a 70 may retake an exam, but the average of the two tests will be counted.
Tutorials may be scheduled by appointment.
No cheating or copying will be tolerated and will result in a ZERO for the guilty party/parties.
Extra credit may be awarded for attending events that pertain to learning the German language.
